We also take a prigrimage to the three sacredmountains in Yading Reserve before making our way to Lhasa the heart of tibetan culture

Day 1  Chengdu--Kangding

Your tour leader will meet you at the hotel, brief you on today’s arrangment, pack up your luggage, leave the buzzling city behind driver all the way to Kangding via Ya’an, You’ll pass the Erlangshan Mountain,the first gateway to Tibet. Cross the 4180m tunel. Take a tour to Luding Suspending Bridage before arriving the mountain town Kangding, the capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and one of the most important trading center of Tea-Horse Road. Settle down,  Enjoy the beautiful evening whith a tibetan dinner at a exotic restaurant.

Day 2  Kangding--Xinduqiao--Litang

Our destination today is no doubt one of the highest town in the world,sits at 4014m and is a main nomadic trading center for Kham Tibetans. Tibetan nomads from the region, on motorcycles or even horseback, come to Litang each day to buy and sell goods. leave Kangding early morning, cross Mt.Zheduo pass(4300 m) to Xinduqiao town, a wonderful site for landscape photographers. take some time to stroll through the busy town, Hop on your vihicle and drive through the highland pasture,Passing two 4300m high mountains-the Jianziwan & Kazila mountain to Litang. Check in hotel and relax. 

Day 3  Litang--Riwa  

Litang is small-but-exalted town known as the 'birthplace of holy men', the 7th and 10th Dalai Lamas among them. Morning visit Choekhorling Monastery siting on a small hill overlooking the whole town. Leave Litang, Just short 20 minutes drive out of the twon, you will find a vast nomadic grassland. unique horse festival takes place here. Nomadic Tibetans from the area and far away get together with their families and friends, pitch their tents, and watch the event that includes horse racing, Yak race, dances and cultural performances. Continue drive to Riwa. with views of Rabbit Mountains(4695m),, Haizi Mountain(4500m). Later You will visit Benpo Monastery en route which was built in a mountain cave. Arrive Riwa around 6pm

Arrange another day in Litang during the Horse Racing Festival. 

Day 4  Yading Reserve. (Trek  Luorong Pasture to Milk Lake approxe 4 hr  5 km)

You’ll transfer to Yading Reserve by local tourist bus, The Yading Nature Reserve is full of stunning beauty and is an excellent place to do some trekking. We take electric cart to the Luorong Pasture, the Grasslands lie at an elevation of 4180 meters and offer an spectacular view of all 3 holy mountains. On the right side is Mt. Chenresig’s southeastern face. On the left side is Mt. Chana Dorje’s (known as Xia Nuo Duo Ji in Chinese) northeastern face while Mt. Jampelyang’s (Yang Mai Yong in Chinese) north face dominates the front view from the grasslands. Luorong Pastrue is one of the most scenic spots in Yading.  from Luorong Ranch the trail ascents upto 500m, the pilgrimage path to Milk Lake gets more difficult and rough, but once you standing by the lake, you will find all the suffering and pain is payoff. the picturesque lake is a turquoise nestled by snow-capped mountains ,  Above Milk Lake is another lake named five Color Lake,this lake sits at 4530 meters and takes about 20 minutes to reach from Milk Lake.  The way back is relatively easy. Tonight we will stay in local hostel in Yading village

(For those who have no interest in trekking, you can rent horse at Luorong Pasture. and the cost to Milk Lake is around 500 RMB)

Day 5  Yading Reserve. (Trek to  Pearl Lake)--Xiangcheng

Today we will walk along the paved step that goes through a forested area and grandually ascent to Pearl Lake for a dramatic close-up view of Mt. Chenresig. the round walk will take around 2.5hr . Return Riwa around 1:00 pm.  After lunch continue drive to Xiangcheng , It is a quite mid-sized town that has special white Tibetan arcitecture and beautiful terrace. 

Day 6  Xiangcheng--Snow Mountain --Shangrila (Zhongdian)

Today we'll cross the boundary of Sichuan and Yunnan , The drive is amazingly beautiful as it crosses the jagged mountain ranges and isolated small villages . Arrive Shangrila around 4:30pm, we are going to stay in a exquisite wooden Boutique Inn at Dukezong Old town,  The Old Town in Shangri La is a maze of great restaurants, bars guesthouses and shops. Joinning in Tibetan dancing at a square. 

There is another option today,  few miles drive off Xiangcheng there is another path lead us to Meili Snow Mountain Viewing Platform and visit Grand U-shaped Jinshajiang River en route --then we'll add a extra night at Feilaishi. If the weather permits,you'll see the spectacular view of Kawagebo  (22,110 ft) looming above us, in the distance. the sacred peak of the Tibetan  remains unclimbed   (sacred peaks may not be climbed) and it represents the “protector” deity of Tibetan 
Day 7 Shangrila (Songzanlin Monastery,  Putatso National Park)

Morning drive about 5 km to visit Ganden Samtseling Monastery(Songzanlin Monastery), reputed as the Little Potala Palace. Established by the Fifth Dalai Lama in 1679, the monastery belongs to Gelug sect of Buddhism, and it is also the largest Buddhist monastery in Yunnan. Walk 143 steps to get atop of the monastery and pay clockwise visit to the major lamasery buildings and get in-depth understanding about Tibetan Buddhist. Afterwards visit China's First National Park--Putatso ,Hop on and off the Eco-bus to visit 2 lakes (Shudu Lake,  Bita Lake) and 1 pasture (Militang Pasture). Feast your eyes with the picturesque highland scencery.  the rest of day is free plus it is a great place to spend some time relaxing after a long overland journey. 
Day 8 Fly to Lhasa

Transfered to Shangrila Airport after breakfast, Take the morning flight to Lhasa  Upon your arrival in Lhasa. Redearth tour staff will greet you at Lhasa Airport to transfer you to hotel. the rest of the day you will be free to wander around city on your own. The first day's well-rest is crucial to acclimatize high altitude

Day 9  Lhasa

Today you will visit totally 2 attractions in Lhasa suburb.morning, we'll arrange you to see Drepung Monastery or Drak Yerpa. Exactly which one of these two will be decided by our operate team. In the afternoon, we will visit Sera Monastery visit Sera monastery, where you can watch monks debate in the courtyard. And then Kora (pilgrim trail circling a sacred place) that offers a panoramic one-hour walk with views of the Lhasa Valley.As you explore the site, your guide will explain the significance of the picturesque green and gold design, typical of Tibetan architecture. Learn about the 1959 revolt that destroyed some of the monastery structures and caused many surviving monks to seek refuge in Mysore, India, where another Sera Monastery was established..

Day 10  Lhasa

After breakfast at your hotel , embark on a great sightseeing tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Potala Palace and its Jokhang Temple, as well as nearby Barkhor Street. Around midday, your guide will accompany you to a local restaurant for lunch. As you approach Potala Palace, marvel at the 13-story fort, which dominates the Lhasa Valley at an altitude of 12,140 feet(3700 meters), Established in the 7th century during the reign of King Songtsen Gampo.Potala Palace was built as a winter palace of the Dalai Lama. The complex, built on Red Mountain, covers 101 acres (41 hectares) and includes many sutras and painted scrolls -- a treasure of traditional Tibetan culture and Buddhism.Pass through the massive walled gates and turrets with your guide and visit the private rooms, shrine room and audience hall of the present Dalai Lama on the uppermost level of the White Palace. View the most sacred shrine, the Phakpa Lhakang Temple, as well as the entombed stupas of past Dalai Lamas. Marvel at the Namgyal Monastery assembly hall and its fascinating murals!

Day 11 Lhasa--Namtso Lake--Lhasa

On the way to Namtso, you will have a far view of Nyenchen Thanglha Snow Mountain. Enjoy the view of the vast grassland and spectacular natural scenery. You’ll arrive at Namtso after pass Nagela Pass[5150m]. Namtso Lake is the highest salt lake. It means “holy lake” in the Tibetan language. In the early summer, flocks of wild ducks fly to inhabit here and breed their offspring. Wild animals such as black bears, yaks, wild donkeys, bharals, foxes, roe deer and marmots can often be found around the lake. You can do a bit trekking at the lake side. Head off  to Lhasa. 

Day 12  Lhasa Departure

Enjoy your last morning in Tibet and you will be transferred to the airport or train station to end your incredible week in Tibet.
